Using modeling clay, 3D printing, and electronics, the children learned about eco-friendly urban design while building a miniature, hands-on representation of a sustainable city.
The 3D Model Eco-City is a collaborative project created with a group of school children, where they learned about and designed a miniature sustainable city featuring 28 different eco-friendly design elements. Using a combination of modeling clay, 3D printing, electronics, model train supplies, and foldable cardboard, the students brought their vision of a sustainable future to life.
The eco-city model includes impressive features such as a fully functioning 3D-printed gondola system, wind turbines, a solar farm array, green roads, green roofs, and biophilic buildings. Through hands-on learning, the children not only explored sustainable design principles but also gained practical skills in model-making and engineering, contributing to a realistic and creative vision of an environmentally conscious urban space.
The projects allows kids to see the interconnected systems involved in building an eco city and sparks discussions between kids about what is required.
